40 Below Summer is an American nu-metal and alternative-metal band formed in New Jersey in 1998. Fronted by Max Illidge, the group became known through the albums Invitation to the Dance and The Mourning After, including the songs “Rope” and “Self Medicate.” The band joined Drowning Pool and Ill Niño on the Jägermeister Music Tour during its early-2000s rise. The Mourning After era also put 40 Below Summer on tour with Mushroomhead and Motograter.
