Alberto Barros in Miguel Hidalgo

Alberto Barros is a Colombian trombonist, arranger, producer and bandleader born in Barranquilla. After working as an arranger and musical director with Grupo Niche, he became widely known for the album series Tributo a la Salsa Colombiana and Tributo a la Cumbia Colombiana, which revisits songs including “Cali pachanguero,” “Busca por dentro” and “La pollera colorá.” The Tributo a la Salsa Colombiana project became the foundation of his concert repertoire, performed by Alberto Barros with a salsa orchestra and multiple vocalists. He has brought that format to Mexican theatres and arenas, including Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City and Auditorio Telmex in Guadalajara.
