Aliah Sheffield is an American R&B and soul singer-songwriter known for “Earth Is Ghetto,” whose plainspoken wish to leave a troubled planet reached a wide online audience. The song appears on her project These Songs Are for Anyone Sick of Earth, alongside work including “Some of Your People” and “Boo the Fool.” Aliah Sheffield performed a Tiny Desk Concert for NPR, presenting her songs in the series’ close-room format. The set included “Earth Is Ghetto,” “Some of Your People” and “Boo the Fool” at NPR’s office in Washington, D.C.
