Artist
Alpha Blondy is an Ivorian roots-reggae singer and songwriter, born Seydou Koné in Dimbokro in 1953. His early album Jah Glory introduced “Brigadier Sabari,” while Cocody Rock and Jerusalem established other central songs in a catalogue performed in Dioula, French and English. The concert album Live au Zénith documented Alpha Blondy performing in Paris with his band, Solar System. The full-band reggae format has also taken him to Rototom Sunsplash in Benicàssim and Summerjam in Cologne.
