Ana Moura in Lisbon

Ana Moura is a Portuguese singer, born in Santarém in 1979, whose music is rooted in fado. Her catalogue includes the albums Guarda-me a Vida na Mão, Desfado and Moura; “Desfado” became one of her signature songs, while Casa Guilhermina introduced contemporary pop and electronic production into her work. In 2007, Ana Moura joined the Rolling Stones at Lisbon’s Estádio José Alvalade to sing “No Expectations.” She has carried her own repertoire well beyond Portugal, giving concerts at Carnegie Hall in New York and the Barbican in London.
