Los Ángeles Azules in Puebla City

Los Ángeles Azules are a Mexican cumbia group formed by siblings from the Mejía Avante family in Iztapalapa in 1976. Their keyboard-led cumbia sonidera is closely associated with songs including “Cómo Te Voy a Olvidar,” “El Listón de Tu Pelo,” “17 Años” and “Mis Sentimientos.” The group later revisited its catalogue with guest vocalists on the album De Plaza en Plaza, which also introduced “Nunca Es Suficiente” with Natalia Lafourcade. Los Ángeles Azules performed at Vive Latino in 2013, bringing a full cumbia ensemble to a festival long associated with rock and alternative music. The band went on to play Coachella in Indio in 2018 and returned in 2022, while its headline work in Mexico has included concerts at the Auditorio Nacional.
