Armandinho & Chimarruts in São João de Meriti

Armandinho is a Brazilian singer-songwriter and guitarist from Porto Alegre who plays reggae shaped by pop and MPB. He is known for songs including “Desenho de Deus,” “Semente,” “Casinha” and “Outra Vida.” In 2006, Armandinho ao Vivo captured his performance at Planeta Atlântida and was released as an album and DVD. He later made Ao Vivo em Buenos Aires, a full-band concert recording in the Argentine capital.

Chimarruts is a Brazilian reggae band formed in Porto Alegre in 2000. The group plays reggae-pop and MPB and is known for songs including “Versos Simples,” “Do Lado de Cá” and “Pra Ela.” In 2008, Chimarruts recorded the concert release Chimarruts ao Vivo at Pepsi on Stage, documenting its full-band arrangements and prominent flute parts. The band has also performed at the Planeta Atlântida festival.
