Atlantic Starr in Philadelphia

Atlantic Starr is an American R&B group formed in Greenburgh, New York, in 1976 by the Lewis brothers. Their music ranges across funk, soul and polished pop ballads, and their best-known songs include “Always,” “Secret Lovers,” “Circles,” “Silver Shadow” and “Masterpiece.” Atlantic Starr toured with the Commodores during the group’s early recording years, taking its ensemble sound to audiences around the United States. In 1988, the band performed at the Nelson Mandela 70th Birthday Tribute at Wembley Stadium, presenting “Silver Shadow” and “One Lover at a Time” as part of the televised concert.
