Artist
Austin TV is a Mexican instrumental rock band formed in Mexico City in 2001. Its post-rock sound is built around interlocking guitars, shifting rhythms and wordless compositions, heard on albums including La última noche del mundo, Fontana Bella and Caballeros del albedrío. The musicians perform in masks and costumes, linking the band’s visual identity to the motto “Tu cara no importa, importas tú.” In 2007, Austin TV opened for The Cure at Palacio de los Deportes, placing the band in an arena setting before its appearance at Coachella the following year. After a long hiatus, the group returned in 2022 with an unannounced performance in a more intimate room at Mexico City’s House of Vans.
