Bahiano in Rosario

Bahiano is an Argentine reggae and rock singer, born Fernando Hortal in Buenos Aires in 1962. He was the original lead singer of Los Pericos from the group’s formation in 1986 until 2004, and his voice is associated with songs including “El ritual de la banana,” “Runaway” and “Pupilas lejanas.” He began his solo career with BH+ and later released Nómade, Rey Mago de las Nubes and Original Roots. He toured Latin America for nearly two decades at the front of Los Pericos, including the group’s appearance at Reggae Sunsplash in Jamaica in 1993. After leaving the band, he built his concerts around solo records and songs from that earlier catalogue; the retrospective project Mucha Experiencia was presented in concert at Teatro Gran Rex in Buenos Aires.
