Artist
Balkan Bump is the electronic music project of American trumpeter and producer Will Magid, launched in Oakland in 2017. He plays brass-led electronic funk shaped by Balkan musical traditions, and became known through “Aymo,” a collaboration with Gramatik featuring Talib Kweli, followed by the self-titled Balkan Bump EP. Soon after the project began, Balkan Bump joined Gramatik’s Re:Coil Tour for club and theatre dates. Festival appearances followed, including a performance at Lightning in a Bottle. Balkan Bump performs with Will Magid playing live trumpet over electronic production. The horn carries melodies and solos throughout the set. His festival history includes Coachella and Electric Forest. He has also performed at Shambhala.
