Artist
Barão Vermelho is a Brazilian rock band formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1981. The group first became known with Cazuza as lead singer and Roberto Frejat on guitar, producing songs including “Pro Dia Nascer Feliz,” “Bete Balanço” and “Maior Abandonado.” After Cazuza left, Roberto Frejat took over the lead vocals and the band continued with releases such as “Por Você.” Barão Vermelho performed at the inaugural Rock in Rio in 1985 during Cazuza’s tenure. In 2005, the band recorded the concert release “MTV ao Vivo: Barão Vermelho” at Circo Voador, and it reunited for a 30th-anniversary tour in 2012. The group returned to touring in 2017 with Rodrigo Suricato as lead vocalist.
