Baxter Dury in Dortmund

Baxter Dury is an English singer-songwriter, born in London in 1971, whose indie pop pairs understated electronics and guitar arrangements with a laconic spoken-sung delivery. The son of Ian Dury, he established his own catalogue through albums including Len Parrot’s Memorial Lift, Happy Soup, Prince of Tears and The Night Chancers; “Miami” is among his best-known songs. Tours behind Happy Soup, It’s a Pleasure and Prince of Tears took Baxter Dury through clubs, theatres and festivals in Britain and continental Europe, including Glastonbury Festival and La Route du Rock. He later brought The Night Chancers and I Thought I Was Better Than You to full-band shows, and France has been especially prominent in his concert history, including performances at La Cigale in Paris.
