Bill & Gloria Gaither in Tulsa

Bill & Gloria Gaither are married American songwriters and performers from Indiana whose work spans Southern gospel, country gospel and Christian hymns. Gloria is principally a lyricist, while Bill is a composer, pianist and singer who founded the Bill Gaither Trio and the Gaither Vocal Band. Their best-known songs include “Because He Lives,” “He Touched Me” and “The King Is Coming.” The Gaither Homecoming series began in 1991, when a gathering of gospel singers after a recording session developed into a filmed musical reunion. The project grew into concert tours featuring Bill Gaither, the Gaither Vocal Band and a rotating company of gospel performers, including Vestal Goodman and Jake Hess. Bill Gaither hosts these ensemble programs, which combine individual performances, group singing and stories from the participants. Praise Gathering for Believers brought their ministry events to Indianapolis; Gaither Family Fest established another long-running gathering in Gatlinburg.
