Billy Corgan in Rotterdam

Billy Corgan is an American singer, guitarist and songwriter born in Chicago in 1967. He is best known as the frontman and principal songwriter of the Smashing Pumpkins, whose catalogue includes “1979,” “Tonight, Tonight” and the albums Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. His solo work ranges from the electronic rock of TheFutureEmbrace to the acoustic songwriting of Ogilala and the country-leaning Cotillions. In 2005, Billy Corgan toured with a band behind TheFutureEmbrace. He returned to solo touring for Ogilala in 2017, performing on guitar and piano and drawing on both his own records and Smashing Pumpkins songs; the itinerary ended with three concerts at the Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever in Los Angeles.
