Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears in Colorado Springs

Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears are an American blues, soul, funk and garage-rock band formed in Austin, Texas, in 2007 around singer and guitarist Joe Lewis. The group became known through the albums “Tell ’Em What Your Name Is!” and “Scandalous,” which include the songs “Sugarfoot” and “Booty City.” In 2009, the band opened for Spoon and Okkervil River while touring behind “Tell ’Em What Your Name Is!” Their concerts feature Lewis on guitar and vocals with a full band, including the horn parts associated with the Honeybears sound. Festival appearances later included Coachella and Bonnaroo.
