Artist
Black Marble is an American coldwave and synth-pop project formed in Brooklyn in 2012 by Chris Stewart and Ty Kube. Its early releases included the EP Weight Against the Door and the album A Different Arrangement, whose spare synthesizers, bass lines and subdued vocals established the project’s sound. Stewart later continued Black Marble as a solo-led project on It’s Immaterial, Bigger Than Life and Fast Idol. In 2019, Black Marble performed material from Bigger Than Life in a live session for KEXP and toured behind the album in North America and Europe. Concerts supporting Fast Idol followed in clubs and theatres, using a flexible band lineup centered on the vocals, bass and synthesizers of Chris Stewart.
