Blacktop Mojo in Iowa City

Blacktop Mojo is an American hard-rock band formed in Palestine, Texas, in 2012. Its post-grunge and southern-rock sound is represented by albums including Burn the Ships and Under the Sun, the song “Where the Wind Blows” and a widely heard cover of Aerosmith’s “Dream On.” In 2017, Blacktop Mojo won an opening-act contest and performed before Bon Jovi at American Airlines Center in Dallas. Two years later, the band supported Under the Sun with a US headline run through rock clubs and theatres on the Under the Sun Tour.
