Bobby Brown & Silk in Stockbridge

Bobby Brown is an American R&B and pop singer, born in Boston in 1969. He first became known as a member of New Edition before establishing a solo career built around new jack swing. His second album, Don't Be Cruel, produced the signature songs “My Prerogative,” “Every Little Step” and “Roni.” Bobby Brown took that album on the road with the Don't Be Cruel Tour and later mounted the Humpin' Around the World Tour. In 2018, he toured with Ronnie DeVoe, Ricky Bell and Michael Bivins as RBRM, then reunited with the full New Edition lineup for The Culture Tour in 2022, which also featured Charlie Wilson and Jodeci.

Silk is an American R&B vocal group formed in Atlanta in 1989. Discovered by Keith Sweat, the group became known for close harmonies, new jack swing and slow jams, led by the chart-topping “Freak Me” and the debut album Lose Control. “Meeting in My Bedroom” later became another signature song. In 2021, Silk joined Keith Sweat during his Verzuz performance against Bobby Brown and sang “Freak Me,” reuniting onstage with the producer who had introduced the group.
