Brakes in Brighton

Brakes are a British indie-rock band formed in Brighton by Eamon Hamilton, Thomas White, Alex White and Marc Beatty. Their songs move between terse punk, guitar pop and country, and their best-known recordings include “All Night Disco Party,” “Pick Up the Phone” and the albums Give Blood and The Beatific Visions. The live album Rock Is Dodelijk documents the band at the Vera club in Groningen, capturing a set built around compact songs and abrupt changes of pace. For performances in the United States, they used the billed name BrakesBrakesBrakes.
