Artist
Budapest Bár is a Hungarian ensemble founded in 2007 by violinist and bandleader Róbert Farkas. The group became known through Budapest Bár Vol. 1, which recast Hungarian café songs, film music and popular standards through gypsy jazz, pop and rock, using a rotating cast of guest vocalists. Müpa Budapest has hosted the ensemble in concert, while Budapest Park has presented its multi-singer format on an open-air stage. The performances pair the instrumental group with different combinations of singers from its recordings, directed from the violin by Róbert Farkas.
