Cedric Burnside in Biloxi

Cedric Burnside is an American singer, guitarist and drummer, born in 1978 and raised in the Mississippi hill country. A grandson of blues musician R.L. Burnside, he is known for percussion-driven hill country blues and for albums including Benton County Relic and I Be Trying, which won the Grammy Award for Best Traditional Blues Album. Burnside began touring as the drummer in his grandfather’s band when he was 13. He later toured and recorded as a duo with guitarist Lightnin’ Malcolm. With the Cedric Burnside Project and under his own name, he moved to lead vocals and guitar while keeping drums in his live repertoire.
