C & C Music Factory in New York

C & C Music Factory is an American dance-music group formed in New York City in 1989 by producers Robert Clivillés and David Cole. Its house, hip-hop and dance-pop sound reached a wide audience through the album Gonna Make You Sweat and the singles “Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now),” “Things That Make You Go Hmmm...” and “Here We Go (Let's Rock & Roll).” Martha Wash recorded the lead vocal on its best-known song, while Freedom Williams supplied its rap. In 1991, C & C Music Factory performed at Rock in Rio II at Maracanã Stadium. Later that year, the group presented “Things That Make You Go Hmmm...” at the MTV Video Music Awards at Universal Amphitheatre.
