Chris Knight in Bluff Dale

Chris Knight is an American country singer-songwriter born in 1960 in Slaughters, Kentucky. His plainspoken songs draw on rural life, work and family conflict, and he is known for recordings including “It Ain’t Easy Being Me,” “Down the River” and “The Jealous Kind.” His self-titled debut established the direct narrative style that has remained central to his albums. In 2001, Chris Knight recorded a set for Austin City Limits that was later issued in the program’s concert-album series. A later concert recording captured his performance at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium.
