La Plazuela in Huelva

La Plazuela are a Spanish duo from Granada comprising Manuel Hidalgo “El Indio” and Luis Abril “El Nitro.” Their music joins flamenco singing and guitar to funk rhythms and electronic production; the album Roneo Funk Club and songs including “El lao de la pena” and “Péiname Juana” established their sound. La Plazuela presented Roneo Funk Club in a full-band headline concert at the city’s Plaza de Toros. They also recorded an NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert in Washington, D.C., performing with guitar, keyboards, bass, percussion and brass.
