Artist
Coffins are a Japanese death-doom band formed in Tokyo in 1996. Their music pairs slow, abrasive doom riffs with guttural death-metal vocals, heard on albums including Mortuary in Darkness, Buried Death, The Fleshland and Beyond the Circular Demise. Coffins performed at Maryland Deathfest in 2008 as their audience spread beyond Japan’s underground metal circuit. Their 2010 appearance at Roadburn Festival was later documented on the live album Live at Roadburn 2010.
