Artist
Congreso is a Chilean band formed in Quilpué in 1969. It plays progressive folk rock grounded in Latin American and Andean traditions, jazz and art rock. The albums Viaje por la cresta del mundo and Para los arqueólogos del futuro, together with songs including “Hijo del sol luminoso” and “En todas las esquinas,” are central to its repertoire. In 1990, Congreso performed at Amnesty International’s Desde Chile... un abrazo a la esperanza concert at Estadio Nacional in Santiago. In 2019, the band marked its 50th anniversary with a concert spanning its catalogue at Teatro Caupolicán.
