Courtney Pine in London

Courtney Pine is a British saxophonist and composer, born in London in 1964, who was a member of the Jazz Warriors. He plays contemporary jazz informed by reggae, soul and hip-hop, and is known for albums including Journey to the Urge Within, Modern Day Jazz Stories and House of Legends. The House of Legends tour presented its Caribbean-rooted material with a full band. He later toured Black Notes from the Deep with singer Omar before presenting Spirituality as a saxophone-and-piano duo with Zoe Rahman. His London appearances have included club dates at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club and concert-hall performances at Barbican Hall.
