Cro-Mags in Cologne

Cro-Mags are an American hardcore punk band formed in New York City in 1981. Their debut album, The Age of Quarrel, joined New York hardcore to the weight and attack of thrash metal through songs including “We Gotta Know” and “Hard Times”; Best Wishes pushed that crossover sound further. Cro-Mags played the hardcore matinees at CBGB during the 1980s, when the club was a central room for the New York scene that produced them. The band’s 1986 concert at The Ritz was filmed and later became a widely circulated document of its early live work.
