Dale Watson and His Lone Stars in Evanston

Dale Watson and His Lone Stars are an American honky-tonk band led by Alabama-born singer, guitarist and songwriter Dale Watson. Their hard-country repertoire includes “Country My Ass” and “I Lie When I Drink,” while albums such as Cheatin’ Heart Attack and The Truckin’ Sessions established the traditional sound that Dale Watson later called Ameripolitan. Dale Watson and His Lone Stars developed a long-running club presence at the Continental Club in Austin and performed at Ginny’s Little Longhorn Saloon, where Dale Watson hosted Sunday Chicken Shit Bingo. After moving his base to Memphis, he reopened Hernando’s Hide-A-Way and made the venue another home for his honky-tonk shows.
