Dan Deacon in Brooklyn

Dan Deacon is an American electronic musician and composer, born in 1981 and based in Baltimore. He makes densely layered electronic music shaped by synthesizers, processed vocals and experimental composition. The album Spiderman of the Rings and tracks including “The Crystal Cat” introduced his work to a wider indie audience; later releases include America, Gliss Riffer and Mystic Familiar. For the 2009 Bromst tour, Deacon performed with a large ensemble that included keyboards, percussion and brass. His solo concerts have often placed his electronic setup on the venue floor and used guided audience participation, including dance circles and coordinated movement. In 2014, he opened for Arcade Fire on North American dates of the Reflektor Tour and performed in arenas.
