David Frizzell in Hawkins

David Frizzell is an American traditional country singer born in El Dorado, Arkansas, and the younger brother of Lefty Frizzell. He is known for the Shelly West duet “You’re the Reason God Made Oklahoma,” the album Carryin’ On the Family Names, and his solo song “I’m Gonna Hire a Wino to Decorate Our Home.” David Frizzell began performing on the road with Lefty Frizzell while still a teenager. In the early 1980s, he toured as a duet act with Shelly West, carrying their recorded partnership into concert appearances built around their shared country repertoire.
