Artist
David Garrett is a German violinist, born in Aachen in 1980, who performs classical repertoire and instrumental arrangements of rock and pop songs. He studied with Itzhak Perlman at the Juilliard School. His crossover catalogue includes the albums Virtuoso, Rock Symphonies and Explosive, as well as versions of Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal” and “He’s a Pirate” from Pirates of the Caribbean. The Rock Symphonies tour brought David Garrett’s violin-and-band program to arenas. He followed it with Explosive Live and Unlimited - Greatest Hits Live, which also placed his solo violin at the centre of a backing band. In 2019, an Unlimited concert was filmed at Arena di Verona.
