David Lee Roth in Menlo Park

David Lee Roth is an American rock singer, born in Bloomington, Indiana, in 1954, best known as the lead vocalist on Van Halen’s first six albums and for his later reunions with the band. He sang “Runnin’ with the Devil,” “Jump” and “Panama”; his solo catalog includes the albums Eat ’Em and Smile and Skyscraper, plus “Yankee Rose” and “Just Like Paradise.” The 1986 Eat ’Em and Smile Tour featured guitarist Steve Vai, bassist Billy Sheehan and drummer Gregg Bissonette in his solo band. He returned to the road with Van Halen for the 2007–08 reunion tour, and the reunited lineup later mounted the A Different Kind of Truth Tour before playing the band’s final concert at the Hollywood Bowl in 2015. In 2020, he presented a solo residency at the House of Blues in Las Vegas.
