David Wilcox & Lucy Kaplansky in Bryn Mawr

Lucy Kaplansky is an American folk singer-songwriter, born in Chicago in 1960 and closely associated with the Greenwich Village songwriting community. After stepping away from music to become a clinical psychologist, she returned to recording with the album The Tide; Flesh and Bone and Ten Year Night further established her catalog of intimate, narrative-driven songs. In 1998, she toured as a member of Cry Cry Cry, the folk trio formed with Dar Williams and Richard Shindell, and the group later reunited for concerts in 2017. She subsequently joined John Gorka and Eliza Gilkyson in the collaborative group Red Horse, which released a self-titled album and performed together in support of it.
