Dessa in Saint Croix Falls

Dessa is an American rapper, singer and writer from Minneapolis. A member of the hip-hop collective Doomtree, she is known for precise, literary songwriting across solo albums including A Badly Broken Code, Parts of Speech and Chime, as well as songs such as “Dixon’s Girl” and “5 out of 6.” In 2015, Dessa toured as part of Doomtree in support of All Hands. She later performed orchestral arrangements of her catalog at Orchestra Hall, and that collaboration produced the concert album Sound the Bells, recorded with the Minnesota Orchestra.
