DJ Paul in Austin

DJ Paul is an American rapper, producer and DJ from Memphis, best known as a co-founder of Three 6 Mafia. He helped establish the group’s dark, bass-heavy Memphis rap sound on albums including Mystic Stylez and Chapter 2: World Domination, and on songs such as “Tear da Club Up ’97” and “Stay Fly.” As a member of Three 6 Mafia, he co-wrote “It’s Hard out Here for a Pimp,” which won the Academy Award for Best Original Song. Three 6 Mafia reunited at One Musicfest in Atlanta in 2019, where DJ Paul and Juicy J performed with Gangsta Boo and Crunchy Black. In 2021, he and Juicy J represented the group in a Verzuz event against Bone Thugs-N-Harmony at the Hollywood Palladium.
