DOWN in Cleveland

DOWN is an American heavy metal band formed in New Orleans in 1991 by musicians associated with Pantera, Corrosion of Conformity, Crowbar and Eyehategod. Their music draws on sludge metal, doom and Southern rock, led by Phil Anselmo’s vocals and the heavy guitar work of Pepper Keenan and Kirk Windstein. The debut album NOLA established the band’s sound through songs including “Stone the Crow,” “Lifer” and “Bury Me in Smoke.” DOWN played Ozzfest in 2002 while touring behind Down II: A Bustle in Your Hedgerow. After releasing Over the Under, they joined Metallica for North American dates on the World Magnetic Tour.
