Raye Zaragoza in San Juan Capistrano

Raye Zaragoza is an American folk and Americana singer-songwriter of O’odham, Mexican, Japanese and Taiwanese heritage. Her protest song “In the River” addresses the Dakota Access Pipeline, while the albums Woman in Color and Hold That Spirit explore identity, resilience and social justice. Raye Zaragoza performed “In the River” on the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage, placing a central song from her catalog in a prominent concert setting. She later performed at Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Bonnaroo.
