Ela Minus in London

Ela Minus is the solo electronic project of Bogotá-born Colombian musician and producer Gabriela Jimeno. She makes synth-led electronic pop using drum machines and her own vocals. Her releases include the albums acts of rebellion and DÍA, as well as the tracks “megapunk,” “dominique” and “they told us it was hard, but they were wrong.” Before adopting this name, she played drums in the hardcore band Ratón Pérez. In 2021, Ela Minus performed material from acts of rebellion at Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago, singing while operating synthesizers, sequencers and drum machines. She brought the same solo hardware-based format to Coachella in 2022.
