Emilíana Torrini in Bremen

Emilíana Torrini is an Icelandic singer-songwriter, born in Kópavogur in 1977, whose music moves through indie pop, folk and understated electronica. Her best-known work includes the albums Love in the Time of Science, Fisherman’s Woman and Me and Armini, the single “Jungle Drum,” and “Gollum’s Song” from The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. In 2009, she performed an NPR Tiny Desk Concert built around songs from Me and Armini. More than a decade later, she toured Racing the Storm with the Belgian ensemble The Colorist Orchestra, presenting the record’s orchestrated arrangements as a joint performance. She then played European theatres on the Miss Flower Tour.
