Artist
Eric Johnson is an American guitarist, singer and songwriter born in Austin, Texas, in 1954. His music draws on instrumental rock, blues, jazz and country, and his best-known recording is “Cliffs of Dover” from the album Ah Via Musicom. The track earned a Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance; his other major albums include Tones and Venus Isle. The inaugural G3 tour in 1996 paired him with Joe Satriani and Steve Vai, and performances from that run appeared on G3: Live in Concert. In 2014 he toured with jazz guitarist Mike Stern following their collaborative album Eclectic. He returned to the road in 2018 for concerts built around a complete performance of Ah Via Musicom.
