Erik Truffaz in Marciac

Erik Truffaz is a French jazz trumpeter and composer, born in Chêne-Bougeries, Switzerland, in 1960. He is known for placing lyrical trumpet lines over electronic textures, drum-and-bass rhythms and hip-hop elements, particularly on the albums The Dawn and Bending New Corners. Mantis and Arkhangelsk carried that approach into later collaborations. Following The Dawn and Bending New Corners, Erik Truffaz toured with a quartet based around trumpet, keyboards, bass and drums. The group brought this repertoire to jazz clubs and major festivals, including Montreux Jazz Festival, while his appearances in France have included Jazz in Marciac.
