Gang Green in Hamden

Gang Green is an American hardcore punk band formed in Braintree, Massachusetts, in 1980. Led by guitarist and vocalist Chris Doherty, the group first appeared on the Boston scene compilation This Is Boston, Not L.A. and became known for fast, irreverent songs including “Alcohol” and “Skate to Hell.” The albums Another Wasted Night, You Got It and Older... Budweiser documented their move toward a heavier punk sound. Gang Green played the Boston hardcore circuit in the early 1980s, then returned with a new lineup in the middle of the decade and toured behind Another Wasted Night. The band later played clubs across the United States and Europe. Chris Doherty remained the constant member when Gang Green returned for later reunion shows in Boston.
