Gerald Albright & Jonathan Butler in Newport Beach

Gerald Albright is an American saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist, born in Los Angeles in 1957. He plays contemporary jazz shaped by R&B and funk, and is known for solo recordings including Just Between Us, Dream Come True and the track “Bermuda Nights.” After college, Gerald Albright joined Patrice Rushen’s band and toured with her before performing on the road with Anita Baker, Whitney Houston and Phil Collins. In 2013, he joined Dave Koz, Mindi Abair and Richard Elliot for the Summer Horns album and tour.

Jonathan Butler is a South African singer, songwriter and guitarist born in Cape Town in 1961. His music draws on soul, contemporary jazz and gospel, and he is known for songs including “Lies,” “Sarah, Sarah” and “Take Good Care of Me,” as well as the albums Jonathan Butler and More Than Friends. In 1988, he performed at the Nelson Mandela 70th Birthday Tribute at Wembley Stadium. He later returned for multiple editions of the Dave Koz & Friends Christmas Tour, performing in theatres across the United States, and has also appeared on Dave Koz & Friends at Sea cruises. He has performed at Capital Jazz Fest in Maryland and at Seabreeze Jazz Festival on Florida’s Gulf Coast.
