Gracie and Rachel in Los Angeles

Gracie and Rachel are an American chamber-pop duo formed by childhood friends Gracie Coates and Rachel Ruggles, who grew up in Berkeley and later based the project in Brooklyn. Coates sings and plays piano, while Ruggles plays violin and sings; their self-titled debut includes “Only a Child” and “Tiptoe,” and they followed it with the album Hello Weakness, You Make Me Strong. Gracie and Rachel have toured with Ani DiFranco and San Fermin, presenting their songs in the duo’s core piano, violin and vocal arrangement. They also performed an NPR Tiny Desk Concert in that format.
