Grateful Shred is an American Grateful Dead tribute band formed in Los Angeles in 2016. The group plays psychedelic rock, folk, country and blues from the Dead’s songbook, emphasizing vocal harmonies and open-ended improvisation. Grateful Shred has returned for multi-night engagements at Brooklyn Bowl in New York while touring U.S. clubs and theatres. The band has also performed at Skull & Roses in Ventura and the Peach Music Festival in Scranton, two festivals centered on improvisational rock.
