Greg Wilson in Los Angeles

Greg Wilson is an English DJ and producer, born in New Brighton in 1960, whose sets draw on disco, funk, electro and house. He became known through his early electro club work, his use of reel-to-reel editing and the Credit to the Edit compilation series. In the early 1980s, he held residencies at Wigan Pier and Manchester’s Legend. His 1983 appearance on Channel 4’s The Tube included a live mixing demonstration, and in 2003 he returned to DJing at the Music Is Better night after a long absence from club performances. His DJ sets use original recordings and re-edits, and the reel-to-reel tape machine has remained a distinctive part of his performance format. His festival appearances have included Glastonbury and Bestival.
