Hacienda Classical in Bristol

Hacienda Classical is a British concert project that recasts music associated with Manchester’s Haçienda nightclub for orchestra. Former Haçienda DJs Graeme Park and Mike Pickering created it in collaboration with Manchester Camerata; its repertoire has included “Voodoo Ray,” “Good Life” and “You Got the Love.” The project debuted at The Bridgewater Hall in 2016, then presented the show at the Royal Albert Hall later that year. Park and Pickering DJ alongside a symphony orchestra, choir and guest vocalists, using arrangements by Tim Crooks. In 2017, Hacienda Classical performed on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival. The project has also appeared at the Isle of Wight Festival.
