Helena Paparizou in Piraeus

Helena Paparizou is a Greek pop singer, born in Borås, Sweden, in 1982. She first became known as half of the duo Antique before building a solo career around dance-pop and contemporary laïko. Her best-known recordings include “Die for You,” “My Number One,” “Mambo!” and the album Protereotita. At Parken Stadium in Copenhagen in 2001, she performed “Die for You” with Antique and finished third in the Eurovision Song Contest. Four years later, she returned alone at Kyiv’s Palace of Sports and won with “My Number One”; as the reigning champion, she also performed at the 2006 event at the Olympic Indoor Hall in Athens. In 2021, she revisited the winning song for the Rock the Roof performance filmed in Rotterdam.
